Get Involved
We're excited that you're participating in the The Space Project, a place of critical engagement with ideas and practices of transforming the world and ourselves within it. To ask us about putting on an event, please email or phone us with the details asked below. This will make your event planning run smoother and publicity more effective. Please include any images you would like added to the advertising for your event on our website.

User Guide
To keep this project running smoothly and to maintain a pleasant space for everyone; we ask that your event/group takes on some small responsibilities.
Donations
The Space Project has a grant which pays for rent until March, but after this we're on our own. Apart from that, it is run entirely on donations and volunteers. To keep it running and available to you, we need to ensure that costs such as heating and electricity are covered as well as getting some rent money for the coming months. We ask that groups make a contribution dependent on ability (if a donation is not possible don't let this stop you from using the space.) This can be done in a number of ways:
• To make a donation each time of use (suggested donation is £5 per event)
• By organising a benefit.
• Making a one off large payment.
If you would like to see The Space continue from March then please donate. We also ask you to respect the suggested donations for tea and coffee found in the kitchen.
Heating
We have heaters in the space, make sure you switch them off at the end.
Opening and Closing
If it is a one off event: a member from the collective will open and close for you.
If you are opening/closing up:
One key opens the downstairs door at the front.
The second key opens the entrance into the space room which is on the right at top of the stairs. The hallway light switch is located by the front door. It is the switch on the far right (the others are for pedlars arms bike coop space - please do not adjust these, as it can be dangerous and leave people in darkness)
The lights for the space room are located at the top of the stairs. Please check that the space is clean and tidy (contact 07719 66 3613 if you encounter any problems)
When you're leaving make sure you lock up properly, turn off the lights and make sure no one is lurking in the other upstairs room.
Tidying up
Please tidy up after each event:
Make sure all washing up is done
Make sure that the toilet is in good order
Make sure that work surfaces are clean and floors are swept (if necessary).
Publicity
We can publicise through our website, monthly programme and facebook groups. To ensure people get a good idea of what you're doing it would be great if you gave us a brief description of the group/speaker/ reading/subject etc.
The deadline to be included in the monthly programme is the 20th of the previous month.
